Undercover detectives arrested two men after witnessing a "hand-to-hand" drug transaction on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont Sunday, police said.

Luis Serrano-Nova, 56, of 541 McKnight St., Reading, Pa., and Dennis McCann, 56, of 47 North Main St., Freeport, were arrested after the incident near the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Sussex Road at about 7:10 p.m., police said.

Undercover detectives arrested two men after witnessing a "hand-to-hand" drug transaction on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont Sunday, police said.

Luis Serrano-Nova, 56, of 541 McKnight St., Reading, Pa., and Dennis McCann, 56, of 47 North Main St., Freeport, were arrested after the incident near the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Sussex Road at about 7:10 p.m., police said.

Detectives recovered 86 bags of cocaine weighing 49.5 grams in a vehicle belonging to Serrano-Nova, Nassau County police said. McCann was found to be in possession of one bag of cocaine, police said.

McCann was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was released on a desk appearance ticket. He is scheduled for arraignment in First District Court on April 25.

Serrano-Nova was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He is scheduled for arraignment Monday.
