A Roosevelt man faces DWI and manslaughter charges following a fiery drunken-driving crash that killed a 30-year-old man on Prospect Avenue in Hicksville late Saturday night, Nassau County police said.

Miguel Nolasco, 42, of Washington Avenue, was allegedly driving drunk and heading west when his 2005 Honda was struck by an eastbound Subaru making a left turn to head north on Cantiague Rock Road at about 11:19 p.m., police said in a news release.

A Roosevelt man faces DWI and manslaughter charges following a fiery drunken-driving crash that killed a 30-year-old man on Prospect Avenue in Hicksville late Saturday night, Nassau County police said.

Miguel Nolasco, 42, of Washington Avenue, was allegedly driving drunk and heading west when his 2005 Honda was struck by an eastbound Subaru making a left turn to head north on Cantiague Rock Road at about 11:19 p.m., police said in a news release.

The driver of the Subaru, identified only as a 30-year-old male, became trapped inside his vehicle as it caught fire and became fully engulfed, police said.

Nolasco was transported to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, according to police. He was placed under arrest after investigators determined he had been driving drunk, police said.

Nolasco is charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, according to the news release. Police said he will be arraigned when medically practical.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
