The westbound service road of the Long Island Expressway has reopened after a car fire, the state Department of Transportation reported on its website.

The car fire had closed the road near Sunnyside Boulevard in Plainview at about 10:30 Wednesday morning, Nassau County police said.

The westbound service road of the Long Island Expressway has reopened after a car fire, the state Department of Transportation reported on its website.

The car fire had closed the road near Sunnyside Boulevard in Plainview at about 10:30 Wednesday morning, Nassau County police said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.

The DOT reported that the service road closure between Exit 48, Round Swamp Road, and Exit 46, was reopened shortly before 1 p.m.
