Homicide detectives are investigating a fatality in Lynbrook Thursday in which a vehicle drove off after hitting a pedestrian on Merrick Road, Nassau County police said.

The victim, a man, was crossing from the north at 9:07 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle in front of a building in the 100 block of Merrick Road, police said.

The victim, a man, was crossing from the north at 9:07 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle in front of a building in the 100 block of Merrick Road, police said.

The vehicle continued without stopping and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
