An man who barricaded himself inside a home in East Massapequa after fighting with his wife, then held authorities at bay for more than two hours Saturday morning has been arrested, Nassau County police said.

The man, Kevin Washington, 43, was arrested from the home on Soloff Road about noon. The man was the only one inside the home, police said. He'd gone into the bedroom and refused to come out, authorities said.

The conflict began after he and the wife had a verbal argument. As she tried to call police, he wrestled the phone out of her hands, an act for which police later charged him with criminal mischief. He's to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
