Resident, firefighter reportedly hurt in Floral Park fire
A female resident and a firefighter were reportedly injured during a fire at a Floral Park home Thursday evening.
Citing fire officials, News 12 Long Island said the woman was injured when she fell down stairs in the home on Iris Avenue and said the Floral Park firefighter suffered second-degree burns to his ear. The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m.

Photos from the scene show firefighters battling the fire and also showed the woman, whose identity was not released, being moved from the site on a stretcher — personnel placing her into an ambulance. Her condition was not immediately known.
The identity of the firefighter also was not known.
Officials said the fire appears to have started in the basement of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
