Nadroo, 17, was invited to present his research on corneal scarring at a banquet at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. His research focused on preventing a cell from turning into scar tissue and on reverse-engineering scar tissue.

"It's kind of humbling, and it's exciting to see that maybe my project does have promise," Nadroo said.

His other achievements include twice placing first in the biochemistry category of the New York State Science & Engineering Fair, and going on to place second and third in the category at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair. He was a semifinalist for the prestigious Davidson Fellows Scholarship.

Nadroo is co-captain of the Science Olympiad team, co-president of the Model UN Club and a varsity member of the Speech & Debate Club. He also is founder of the school's Social Innovation Forum, president of the French Honor Society and a member of National Honor Society.
