aIam definitely considering it,a said Schneiderman, the former former East Hampton supervisor, who owns a motel in Montauk.

The lawmaker said he changed his voter registration to Hampton Bays May 6. Schneiderman said he has owned a home in Southampton for the past six years and lived there part-time because his children, who live with his ex-wife, go to school in town. He added he is currently building a new house on the site which will be ready by July.

Herr said he does not see Schneidermanas residency as an issue, noting the term-limited lawmaker is well known locally and represented Southampton in the county legislature for the last 12 years. The party will formally name candidatesa at its convention May 27.
