One motorcyclist killed, another injured in Southern State Parkway crash, State Police say
One of two motorcyclists involved in a collision with two vehicles on the Southern State Parkway in the Town of Oyster Bay late Thursday afternoon has died and the other was injured, the State Police said in a statement.
The motorcyclist who was killed has been identified as David Torres, 45, of Hempstead. Police said Torres was driving a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck the rear of a 2019 Jeep and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Torres was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, where he died from his injuries, police said.
The collisions occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. when all four vehicles were headed west on the parkway near Exit 31. The other two drivers were not injured, the statement said.
The westbound lanes were temporarily closed.
