One person has died and another was seriously injured after their vehicle slammed into a tree in East Shoreham on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The vehicle struck a tree on Randall Road at 1:14 p.m., leading to roadway closures in both directions between Cooper Street and the Leisure Glen gated community off Glen Drive, police said.

The vehicle struck a tree on Randall Road at 1:14 p.m., leading to roadway closures in both directions between Cooper Street and the Leisure Glen gated community off Glen Drive, police said.

A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and the female driver was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Randall Road was closed for hours, police said.

Other details were not immediately available, police said.
