Balmy temps led to LI's warmest November
It's official. Long Island notched the warmest November on record, with an average high temperature of 58.8 degrees for the month, the National Weather Service said Thursday.
The average warm temperature for November was 58.8 degrees, according to statistics from the Upton-based service. The previous mark was 58.3 degrees in 2001.

The National Weather Service data, recorded in Islip, date from 1984.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the 50s right through Monday, the agency said on its website.
Thursday afternoon will have sunny skies with a high near 51. Friday will be sunny with a high near 53, and Saturday will again be sunny with a high near 50. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 53.
Monday will bring a chance of showers, and it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 55.
