A 2-year-old boy died Tuesday afternoon after being pulled unresponsive from a residential pool in Islandia, Suffolk County police said.

The toddler, Chosen Johnson-Pierre, was pulled from the water by a family member at a home on Sunflower Lane at 12:40 p.m., police said.

A 2-year-old boy died Tuesday afternoon after being pulled unresponsive from a residential pool in Islandia, Suffolk County police said.

The toddler, Chosen Johnson-Pierre, was pulled from the water by a family member at a home on Sunflower Lane at 12:40 p.m., police said.

Family members started CPR until first responders from the Fourth Precinct arrived at the scene, officials said.

Chosen, who lived at the Islandia home, was take to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

Miriam Rosa-Noriega, Chosen's great-grandmother, said the toddler's mother found the child in the pool.

“He was an angel,” she said, in tears.

Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad are investigating the incident and are urge anyone with information to call 631-852-6392.
