Connecticut authorities had said they discovered Koster's body after they responded to a 911 call.

"We have never heard of this person. We don't know who this person is," said Koster's stepfather, Larry Ross, of Copiague referring to Ganthier.

Suffolk police did not release any other information Monday night, other than to say that Ganthier was in custody and he's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip.

Koster had been with friends at a Holbrook bar and her friends dropped her off at her home on Falcon Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. That was the last time Koster was seen.
