A driver who lost control of his car, crossing a divided highway and ending up stuck on a guardrail early Friday in Holtsville was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk County police said.

Paul Ficht, 30, of Coram, was driving northbound on County Road 97, Nicolls Road, when he lost control of his car, crossed into the southbound lanes near the Furrows Road overpass -- and ended up on the guardrail, police said.

A driver who lost control of his car, crossing a divided highway and ending up stuck on a guardrail early Friday in Holtsville was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk County police said.

Paul Ficht, 30, of Coram, was driving northbound on County Road 97, Nicolls Road, when he lost control of his car, crossed into the southbound lanes near the Furrows Road overpass -- and ended up on the guardrail, police said.

The crash happened shortly after midnight, police said.

The driver was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with minor injuries and was later arrested, police said.

His arraignment information was not immediately available.
