Cops: E. Farmingdale garage fire appears accidental
Suffolk County's Arson Squad said a fire that ravaged a detached garage at an East Farmingdale home late Monday appears to be accidental, a police spokeswoman said.
The squad is investigating a fire at a Birch Court East address that decimated the garage and damaged a neighbor's shed.

The squad is investigating a fire at a Birch Court East address that decimated the garage and damaged a neighbor's shed.
The fire began at about 10 p.m., and the Arson Squad's preliminary report suggests it was started by a laser engraving tool or system, the spokeswoman said.
The East Farmingdale Fire Department responded and brought the fire under control in less than an hour.
The Farmingdale Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene.
