A Selden man was arrested and charged with felony drunken driving after he circumvented an interlock device on his car -- and then overturned it Wednesday evening, police said.

Daniel J. Burke, 47, of 207 Mooney Pond Rd., was arrested at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was being treated for minor injuries after the 6:37 p.m. crash on Adirondack Drive in Selden, Suffolk County police said.

The accident scene was just south of Route 25.

Police said Burke was charged with felony DWI, because he circumvented an interlock device in place on the vehicle to restrict his driving.

It was not immediately clear when the interlock device had been ordered put in place -- or why it had been required.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
