A Brentwood man driving without a seat belt and who had difficulty staying in his lane on the Southern State Parkway in Bay Shore Tuesday night faces a felony drunken driving charge, State Police said.

Robert Mills, 47, of 262 Claywood Dr., was driving a blue Oldsmobile west on the parkway near Exit 40, Bay Shore Road, at about 7:45 p.m. when he was stopped, troopers said in a report.

Troopers said Mills smelled of alcohol and that he recorded a breath-analyzer reading of .12 percent.

He was charged with driving under the influence, and police also said his license had been suspended because of a previous drunken driving conviction, police said.

Under New York State law, the drunken driving charge is a felony because it is a second offense. Mills also is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, police said.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
