A Huntington Station man pulled unresponsive from a West Hills swimming pool last week has died, Suffolk police said.

In a news release Wednesday, police identified the victim as Ellery Smith, a 45-year-old acquaintance of the West Hills homeowner, who had found him in the pool at 2 p.m. May 19.

A Huntington Station man pulled unresponsive from a West Hills swimming pool last week has died, Suffolk police said.

In a news release Wednesday, police identified the victim as Ellery Smith, a 45-year-old acquaintance of the West Hills homeowner, who had found him in the pool at 2 p.m. May 19.

A resident of the home began CPR on the man until first responders arrived, police said.

Smith was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, police said.
