A blaze at a two-story Bay Shore home erupted shortly before dawn Thursday, Suffolk police said.
The fire broke out around 5 a.m. at a house on Les Street, police said. Pictures showed flames flaring through the roof. A brick chimney divides the middle of the structure, and even the less-damaged half had a scorched exterior and blackened windows, according to photos.

No one was injured, and the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, police said. Arson detectives are investigating, as is customary.

The Town of Islip had no immediate comment.
