A motorcyclist was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries Wednesday evening after crashing into a SUV in Lindenhurst, Suffolk police said.

The identity of the 31-year-old man, who was on a 2013 Suzuki at the time of the crash and who lives in Amityville, will not be released until his family is notified, police said.

A motorcyclist was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries Wednesday evening after crashing into a SUV in Lindenhurst, Suffolk police said.

The identity of the 31-year-old man, who was on a 2013 Suzuki at the time of the crash and who lives in Amityville, will not be released until his family is notified, police said.

The man had been headed north on New Highway around 5:35 p.m. when he collided with a woman behind the wheel of a southbound 2014 Honda CR-V, who was turning east onto Route 109, police said.

That driver, Cynthia Gould, 51, of Lindenhurst, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, police said.

The motorcycle and the Honda will undergo safety checks, police said, and anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to call police at 631-854-8152.
