Suffolk County police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in North Bay Shore on Friday.

A 75-year-old North Bay Shore man was driving a 2015 Honda CRV sport utility vehicle west on Pine Aire Drive at the intersection of Fifth Avenue at 4:56 p.m. when he struck a male pedestrian, Suffolk County police said.

Suffolk County police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in North Bay Shore on Friday.

A 75-year-old North Bay Shore man was driving a 2015 Honda CRV sport utility vehicle west on Pine Aire Drive at the intersection of Fifth Avenue at 4:56 p.m. when he struck a male pedestrian, Suffolk County police said.

The pedestrian, who police did not immediately identify, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where police said he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the CRV was not injured in the collision, authorities said. The CRV was impounded for a safety check, according to police.

Suffolk County police detectives ask anyone with information about this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
