A man was struck by a van in Deer Park on Tuesday night as he was trying to cross the street, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Vincente Perez was crossing Bay Shore Road near Duke Street when he was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet Van driven by Brian Lozano at about 8:30 p.m.

A man was struck by a van in Deer Park on Tuesday night as he was trying to cross the street, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Vincente Perez was crossing Bay Shore Road near Duke Street when he was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet Van driven by Brian Lozano at about 8:30 p.m.

Perez, 37, of Deer Park, was taken by Deer Park Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and is listed in critical condition.

Lozano, 30, of Bay Shore, remained at the scene and was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing, police said.
