A Sayville man was seriously injured Friday night when he was hit by a minivan on Montauk Highway in Oakdale, Suffolk County police said.

John Finn, 75, was driving a 2007 Kia Sedona westbound on Montauk Highway, near Dale Drive, when at about 10:20 p.m. his vehicle struck Jesus Castro, 80, who was walking in the roadway, police said.

A Sayville man was seriously injured Friday night when he was hit by a minivan on Montauk Highway in Oakdale, Suffolk County police said.

John Finn, 75, was driving a 2007 Kia Sedona westbound on Montauk Highway, near Dale Drive, when at about 10:20 p.m. his vehicle struck Jesus Castro, 80, who was walking in the roadway, police said.

Castro was taken by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Finn, of Oakdale, was not injured.

Detectives ask anyone who may have seen the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
