Service on the LIRR’s Ronkonkoma Branch service is operating on or close to schedule after a partial suspension caused by a police probe near Brentwood.

Full service was restored on the branch about 5:29 p.m., according to a Long Island Rail Road alert.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the railroad alerted customers that it had suspended service in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma due to the police investigation near Brentwood.

Shortly before 5:30, the LIRR said, “Full train service has been restored,” but advised passengers to expect residual delays.
