$4.3M renovation of Hicksville water plant completed
The Hicksville Water District has completed a $4.3-million renovation of its Plant No. 6.
The yearlong project at the Kuhl Avenue facility included installation of a new filtration system for the removal of nitrates and trace organics as well as replacement of equipment such as piping and electrical controls.

Similar work will begin soon on the district’s Plants 1 and 5.
“These improvements will benefit the community tremendously by increasing the quality and efficiency of water delivery,” chairman Nicholas Brigandi said. “Infrastructure investment and long term capital planning will help to maintain the low cost of water for our residents.”
