Heroin map updated ... for western Suffolk
Suffolk County has upgraded its Drup Mapping Index, which plots heroin hot spots, by adding the ability to track heroin arrests by community and police precinct.
The map, launched last month under Natalie's Law, still doesn't include East End communities, which have separate police departments than those in the five western Suffolk towns (Huntington, Islip, Babylon, Smithtown and Brookhaven).

Suffolk police have reached out to those police departments asking for their participation, said Bryan Galgano, a spokesman for Legis. Wayne Horsley (D-Babylon), who announced the map upgrade.
If you're using a Macintosh computer, you're likely to get an error screen at first, but the map should pop up eventually.
