Democrat Andrew Cuomo’s latest ad in the race for governor will air Wednesday and focus on his fight against fraud in the public worker pensions system.
The 33-second spot accurately states that Cuomo as attorney general has saved the public pension system millions of dollars through his investigations.
It states that “Andrew’s new plan” would also seek to create a board of trustees to manage the pension system. That would mean ending the elected state comptroller’s job as sole trustee of the pension system, a provision of law.
Cuomo says the ad will run statewide, but won’t disclose the cost of the advertising buy.
Republican candidate Rick Lazio’s first $200,000 ad campaign began Wednesday.
