JFK to get 40 new passport kiosks to reduce customs wait times
Delta Air Lines is set to install 40 new automated passport kiosks at Kennedy Airport to reduce the wait time for travelers using customs at the busiest U.S. entry point, Sen. Charles Schumer said Tuesday.
Schumer said his efforts to get the kiosks started after a report showed that customs at JFK had the longest wait times of any airport in the country, with the average wait clocking in at more than two hours. "Finally, these 40 new passport kiosks will provide welcome relief to American passengers at JFK, now forced to wait hours on end to enter the world's greatest city via JFK," Schumer said.

Schumer reached out to the Department of Homeland Security about the kiosks. They were quickly approved and will be switched on Oct. 15 in Terminal 4. The kiosks will be open only to Americans.
