UPDATED 9:02 P.M.: A homeless man was arrested Monday for a spate of home invasions and attempted rapes in Brooklyn Monday, police said.

Edgar Marrero, 24, is facing rape, burglary and other charges.

The spree started Monday evening, when a suspect allegedly shoved his way into an apartment on Berry Street in Williamsburg, allegedly knocking unconscious the 27-year-old woman who answered the door and then allegedly tried to rape her, the NYPD said. He was scared off after a neighbor responded to her screams for help when she awoke.

The suspect allegedly then made two similar attacks on women in Greenpoint about two hours later, and he was scared off in both attacks after the women screamed for help, cops said.
