Advocacy group Transportation Alternatives wants straphangers to rate their ride over the last few years.

They're asking riders, "Since 2009, has your commute on the NYC subway or bus gotten better or worse?" Riders should text the word "commute" to 30644 and say if their ride has gotten better, worse or stayed the same.

The group is conducting the survey to see how New Yorkers have been impacted by state funding cuts to the MTA since 2009. In 2010, the cash-strapped transit agency cut two subway lines and dozens of bus routes.
