On my last day in Levittown, I’m focusing on the man himself -- William Levitt.

There were actually three men, Abraham Levitt and his sons “Bill” and Alfred, but Bill Levitt was the face of Levittown.

I learned these things and more about the building of Levittown yesterday from Bill Koenig, a Levittown resident and member of the historical society. Koenig, who is also a musician and produced a CD with eight songs about Levittown, grew up in Mineola but became so intrigued by the Levittown community that he finally moved here about 10 years ago. You’ll find an interview with Koenig posted here today.

I’m also headed back to meet with Louise Cassano, who I interviewed earlier in the week about growing up in Levittown. For the 50th anniversary of Levittown, Cassano, a former reporter for a local paper, got the chance to interview Bill Levitt.

I’ll talk to Cassano about getting to meet him. You can find part of her interview immediately on Twitter, and the rest later today in the complete video we’re producing on the history of Levittown.

You’ve got one more day to send in your suggestions via Twitter, e-mail or the comments below for people I should meet or places I should visit. But feel free to reach out in the future if there’s something we shouldn’t miss in Levittown.
