Long Island weather forecast: Dry and warm

After a soggy Saturday, the sun is expected to peek out between the clouds Sunday bringing springlike weather for Long Island communities holding early St. Patrick's Day parades.
The Kings Park St. Patrick's Day parade was held in rain Saturday with the help of umbrellas, raincoats, and plenty of smiling Irish eyes, but parades in East Islip, Bethpage and Mineola on Sunday should be able to step off under partly sunny skies after early morning patchy fog clears.

The National Weather Service said Saturday evening that the high temperature Sunday should be about 59 degrees. A northwest wind of 6 to 9 mph is expected.
The normal high for March 3 in Islip is only 44 degrees.
Sunday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature of around 42 degrees, the weather service said.
The forecast for Monday calls for mostly cloudy skies, with a high temperature near 53, before Monday night brings a 50% chance of rain returning to Long Island.
Tuesday has a rain 70% chance of rain, mainly before 8 a.m., the weather service said.
