Broadway shows
Several popular Broadway shows are back and available to see. All shows require proof of vaccination and all must wear masks; unvaccinated attendees under 12 can enter with a negative COVID test. Tony Award-winning hits like "Hamilton," "Wicked" and "Hadestown" are among the big shows from which to choose. Jeff Daniels is scheduled to appear in "To Kill a Mockingbird" between Oct. 5 through Jan. 2, and "Diana: A New Musical," based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, launches on Nov. 2. Summit at One Vanderbilt

If you haven’t yet heard of Summit, you likely have seen its perch while around Manhattan, as it’s located in One Vanderbilt, a skyscraper that stands more than 1,401 feet high. Just getting to Summit — an observatory and social space 1,210 feet up. Patrons can step out into transparent glass sky boxes — dubbed "Levitation" — that are placed 1,063 feet above the ground and stick out over Madison Avenue. The spot offers an al fresco bar and an outdoor alpine meadow. Guests can explore an art installation titled "Air," a walk-through with glass mirrors on every structural surface.

Banksy: Genius or Vandal?

The unidentified street artist known only as Banksy has been covertly traveling the globe for decades, leaving behind a legacy of politically charged, self-styled graffiti that has become recognized as part of the modern art world. This fall, the public can get a look at dozens of certified pieces from private collections by the widely-revered artist. Runs through Nov. 28; timed-entry tickets available; prices start at $29.50 for adults, ages 4 to 12 $19.90.

Illumination NY

This three-day festival features several light-based art installations, created by local talents and artists from around the world. The gathering will also include DJs, a dance floor, a bar and food trucks. All who attend are encouraged to arrive dressed in lights themselves. MoonRise NYC

This two-hour show includes aerial performances that invoke 13 "moon goddesses," each matched with a lunar cycle. Presentations will include aerial enactments, artwork and a renowned balance act that was once a part of the Cirque du Soleil. Attendees can also enjoy signature cocktails related to each of the divinities portrayed in the performances. Running Fridays, Saturdays and on Halloween between Sept. 24 and Oct. 31, with sessions starting at 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m.; tickets start at $60.

007 x SPYSCAPE: The James Bond Immersive Exhibition

With the 25th James Bond film "No Time To Die" set to hit theaters in October, this interactive experience is a major treat for movie fans. Among things to see are the character’s Aston Martin DB5, several replicas and models inspired by — or used during — the many Bond films, as well as an exhibition of giant projection-mapping, animation, screened interviews and a look at some of the gadgets that have saved Agent 007 time and again. The Rose Room at The Triad

The experience combines supper club dining with an unpredictable show that will pop up around the room and occasionally see attendees end up onstage. Performances typically feature cabaret, magic, circus acts and other forms of live entertainment. Hosted by mentalist and storytelling entertainer Mister Dusty Rose, other resident performers include kabarettist Amy Jo Jackson, spirited juggler Sam Urdang and dancers Melissa Anderson and Jack Blackmon. House Of Spirits: A Haunted Cocktail Soiree

Taking place within an actual mansion, this Halloween-inspired event is also interactive. While exploring, grab drinks in a ghoulishly decorated space or head forth into areas intended to frighten. Wandering the house will help unlock clues relating to the eerie fate of the "Vega family," whose personal tragedy locks into unnerving experiences. Along the way, guests will find activities and games to sample, live music, a giant Ouija wall and a ghostly mirror maze. Join in a scavenger hunt held in rooms that also host giant creatures. Attendees are encouraged to wear period costumery or cocktail attire (Halloween masks, extensive makeup or prop weapons are not permitted), food and beverages will be available for purchase.
