“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, who is known for making an impression whenever he visits eateries across Long Island, has done it again.
Over the weekend, he made an impromptu appearance at Schultzy’s restaurant in Bayville, where the “Saturday Night Live” alum performed a duet of The Beatles’ “Two of Us” with local musician James Liverani. Fallon, who was casually dressed in a sweatshirt, khakis and sneakers, was having Sunday brunch when he jumped up to perform with Liverani, who is a friend.
Fallon, 50, has a history of performing in public with his “Tonight Show” bit “Subway Busking.” In 2017, he sang the Dolly Parton classic “Jolene” with Miley Cyrus in a New York City subway station. More recently he and Ed Sheehan covered Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” disguised as street musicians on a New York City subway platform.
The seafood eatery, which opened in 2023, is located at 265 Bayville Ave. and owned by local bayman James Schultz.
Both Liverani and Schultz declined to be interviewed on Tuesday for this story.
Fallon has made a habit of meeting and mingling with Long Islanders when he eats out. In December 2023, he was dining at the Glen Cove Asian restaurant Sweet Mandarin where he visited a table to wish a happy birthday to a young boy celebrating with his family. The comedian also posed for photos with everyone at the birthday party.
On another occasion, he was caught on social media downing shots with a fellow patron at Garvies Point Brewery in Glen Cove.
In 2018, Fallon surprised a party of four at the now-gone Il Mulino Italian restaurant in Wainscott by picking up their tab for just over $1,100 as a thank you for not disturbing him while he enjoyed his meal.
