It was only last month that Chick-fil-A opened a new outpost in Selden — not to be outdone, East Meadow is cashing in on the fun. On Thursday, Chick-fil-A Eisenhower Park — located on Hempstead Turnpike, just outside the park at the corner of Merrick Avenue — opens as a drive-thru location.

The Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A’s latest shop on Long Island is the 12th local outpost of the fast casual brand, which now has more than 3,000 restaurants across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. It joins locations in Huntington, Hicksville, Levittown, Commack and Farmingville, among others.

Similar to the Selden opening, the East Meadow restaurant highlights the return of the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich, which features a grilled chicken breast served on a toasted, buttered bun with Colby-Jack cheese, brown sugar and pepper-marinated bacon and lettuce, topped with barbecue sauce. New pineapple dragon fruit beverages, which come in iced tea, lemonade, Sunjoy (iced team-lemonade mix) and frosted lemonade varieties, are also on offer. These specials are in addition to Chick-fil-A’s regular menu of chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, salad, fries and shakes, with a side of Chick-fil-A’s tangy signature sauce — a mixture of honey mustard, barbecue and ranch.

The newest Chick-fil-A is owned by Scott Buccellato, a Long Island resident who has operated Chick-fil-A Westbury since 2018.

Originally from New Jersey, Buccellato and his wife, Jeanne-Marie, relocated to Long Island 15 years ago. Helping fulfill his Chick-fil-A mission, Buccellato’s extended family plays an active role in both restaurants, with his wife, three children and 13 nieces and nephews as team members.

Chick-fil-A Eisenhower Park, 1622 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow; chick-fil-a.com. Beginning May 1, open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to midnight, closed Sunday.
