Nearly 1,400 single-family homes sold in the first month of the year, according to data provided by OneKey MLS.
A data analysis showed there were 793 closed sales in Suffolk County and 589 in Nassau in January.
Suffolk communities with the highest amount of sales were Lindenhurst (32 sales), Smithtown (31), Huntington (28), Ronkonkoma (27) and Commack (25), according to the multiple listing service that covers Long Island.
In Nassau, the communities topping the sales charts were Massapequa (29), Valley Stream (27), Hicksville and Merrick (both 23) and Levittown and Oceanside (both 21), data showed.
Long Island home prices had a final surge at the end of 2024, OneKey MLS reported. Suffolk County median prices matched a record high of $680,000 in December, Newsday reported, while prices rose to $800,000 in Nassau, data showed.
