Rylie Wiegand scored with 32 seconds left in the first overtime to give Floyd a 9-8 win in Suffolk I girls lacrosse on Tuesday. Wiegand also had three assists. Ava Tiedemann and Madison Widecki each scored three goals and Natalie Samlihan and Emma DiMaio each scored a goal for Floyd (3-2). Sydney Elizalde had two goals and two assists for Connetquot (0-4).
Mount Sinai 13, Kings Park 7: Kyla Orlando scored seven goals to lead Mount Sinai (1-2) in Suffolk II. Alexa Spallina had a goal and nine assists in the win, while Sophia Masone chipped in three goals and three assists. Emily Clemens had four goals and an assist for Kings Park (3-2).
MONDAY’S GAMES
Bethpage 8, Plainedge 7: Grace Miller scored four goals, including the winner in the fourth quarter to break a tie at 7, for Bethpage (2-3) in Nassau II. Emily Caputo had 15 saves. Madison Wade had six goals for Plainedge (4-3).
BOYS LACROSSE
Roslyn 11, Bethpage 9: Josh Berger and Gavin Ryback each scored three goals and added an assist to lead Roslyn (4-1) in Nassau I. Zach Mashaal made 16 saves. Andrew Reinhardt had five goals and two assists for Bethpage (2-2).
West Babylon 7, Holy Trinity 6: Brandon Ovaitte made 15 saves while Lucas Miller added two goals and two assists to lead West Babylon (2-2) to a non-league win. Anthony Nasta scored two goals. Gabriel Nathan had three goals for Holy Trinity (2-3). Matthew Becker made nine saves.
SOFTBALL
Miller Place 12, Kings Park 0: Brooke Callaghan had four hits, including a double and triple, and finished with seven RBIs to lead Miller Place (5-0) in League VI. Ava Zicchinelli had two hits, two RBIs and allowed no runs over six innings. Laney Vomero had three hits and three RBIs and Breya Kesler had a hit and scored four runs. Brooke Borkowski and Sadie Bryant each had a hit and scored a run. Katherine Krayewski and Emma Lombardi each had a hit for Kings Park (2-3).
MONDAY’S GAMES
Half Hollow Hills 10, Floyd 9: Danica Golden delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to cap a comeback from a 9-1 deficit for Half Hollow Hills (3-1) in Suffolk I. Avery Yopp led off the inning with a single and Olivia Madrid drove her in with a triple to tie the game. Madrid went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Lucy Feigenbaum and Gianna DeGrotta each had a double.
BASEBALL
Connetquot 4, Sachem North 3: Jagger Adamo had a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning for Connetquot (4-0) in Suffolk II. Andrew Amarando went 2-for-2 with a triple and Mike Mallon pitched 1 1⁄3 innings in relief and struck out a batter to earn the win. Sachem North is 2-2.
West Islip 2, West Babylon 1: Evan Byrnes struck out six over six no-hit innings and allowed one run for West Islip (2-1) in Suffolk IV. Gannon Klimuszko tossed a scoreless seventh and Will Delanoy drove in Nico Acquista for the go-ahead run. West Babylon is 2-2.
FLAG FOOTBALL
MONDAY’S GAMES
Sachem East 19, Lindenhurst 6: Sofia Larrea threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding 100 yards on the ground and a rushing score for Sachem East in Suffolk I. Kacey Berger, Reese Malfettone, Colleen Hakes and Izzy Sharp totaled seven tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Larrea had a 3-yard rushing touchdown, Margolis had a 23-yard TD reception from Larrea and Marchese had a 7-yard touchdown catch. Lindenhurst is 1-6.
BOYS TENNIS
Friends Academy 4, Port Washington 3: At fourth doubles, Vir-Vinnay Singh and Blake Doan defeated Leo Bosse and Brandon Lam, 6-7 (7-4), 6-4, 6-4, to lead Friends Academy in its season opener. At third singles, Hudson Lee defeated Anthony Venters, 6-3, 7-5.
