There is such a thing as love at first sight — just ask Dan Leo.

Leo, 33, said he knew instantly that Brittany Lovisi was the one for him, and he told her so after only a few weeks of dating.

“I took a little longer,” admitted Lovisi, also 33. “But over the summer of 2018, I just knew this guy was different.”

The two met on the dating app Hinge and had their first date in June 2018 at Vintage Wine Bar and Bistro in Farmingdale. The next day, Leo asked Lovisi on their second date — and they have been together ever since.

Three years after that first date, Lovisi, a senior marketing project manager, and Leo, a project engineer, spent a weekend on the North Fork. It was there that Leo said he asked the love of his life to marry him on Oct. 9, 2021.

“Dan had a lottery ticket created that, when we won, the prize would be, ‘Will you marry me?’ ” said Lovisi. “After spending time on a vineyard, we went back to our bed-and-breakfast and he handed me the lottery ticket to scratch off. When the prize was revealed, he got down on one knee and proposed.”

They were married at the Bellport Country Club on July 3, 2023, with 110 guests in attendance. The weather was beautiful, they said, perfect for their outdoor ceremony.

“It’s very rare to have all of your closest friends and family in the same room. It was very meaningful,” said Lovisi.

Lovisi said she made customized koozies, or drink sleeves, for guests and created monogrammed signage, paper goods and pillows that could be found in the lounge.

“I was really excited to do all of that,” said Lovisi. “I wanted to make the wedding really personal and special.”

The couple took a “mini-moon” to Cancun, Mexico, two days after the wedding, and are planning a trip to Italy next year.

And they celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary with a special gift: On July 8, Lovisi gave birth to their daughter, Siena.
