Luo's family flew 7,000 miles from Shanghai to see her off to prom and to be there with her before her graduation. She started attending the school during eighth grade. "It's just a really cool and unique experience, going to school in America," Luo said. "And the whole prom experience -- it is a very unique tradition for America to have."

Ian and Cathi Young flew 3,500 miles from Worcestershire, England, to see their daughter off to prom and to be there with her during the final events of her year at the school. "It's a new experience. Prom in the U.K. isn't a big deal," Erin Young said. "This is far more elaborate."
