Barbara Barker is a sports columnist and features writer who produces issue-oriented columns and human-interest pieces. She joined Newsday in 1995 as the New York Knicks beat writer and has covered the NBA as a reporter or columnist for almost three decades. She is a sought-after expert on the topics related to the intersection of sports and society and has appeared as a commentator on NPR’s All Things Considered, WNYC’s The Brian Lehrer Show, ESPN, TNT, MSG, WFAN and SNY.
