John Leguizamo bringing ‘Latin History for Morons’ to Broadway

John Leguizamo will be back on Broadway in October with his one-man show, “Latin History for Morons.”

The play, which ran at the Public Theater in March, came about when the actor, 53, noticed the lack of Latino history at his son’s school.

“John Leguizamo is a brilliant actor,” Oskar Eustis, the Public’s artistic director, said in a statement. “In these troubled times, his voice is a joyous reminder of what is best in America.”

This is Leguizamo’s sixth one-man stage show, including “Ghetto Klown” and “Freak,” which earned him two Tony nominations. “Latin History for Morons” opens Nov. 15 at Studio 54 and runs through Feb. 4.
