A truck carrying a section of a modular office lost a tire Thursday morning on the eastbound Long Island Expressway in North Hills, causing debris to strike another vehicle, Nassau County police said.

The driver of the vehicle struck by debris was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident scene, near Exit 35, caused delays from about 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., as investigators from the police Motor Carrier Safety Inspection team conducted an investigation.

At times during the removal process, up to two lanes of the expressway were closed.
