Whitney Houston is once again seeking help for drug and alcohol abuse.
The songstress has voluntarily checked herself into an out-patient program, a representative for Houston confirmed to amNewYork yesterday.
“Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment,” the rep said. “Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.”
It is unknown how long the troubled 47-year-old singer will undergo treatment.
Houston — who has been open about her drug and alcohol problems in the past — had stints in rehab in 2004 and 2005, and was arrested in 2000 for trying to bring a bag of marijuana onto a plane at Kona International Airport in Hawaii.
In 2002, Houston gave an in-depth interview to Diane Sawyer on ABC’s “Primetime,” admitting to using drugs in the past but claiming that “the party’s over.”
