Dwight Gooden’s life has taken another turn for the worse, as the former big league pitcher has reportedly been evicted from his New Jersey mansion.
TMZ reported that Gooden’s family was forced out of their home in July, after four months of failing to pay rent.
Gooden himself had not been living in the house at the time of the eviction. Gooden’s wife got a restraining order against her husband after a domestic dispute in March, forcing the former Mets star to move, according to the report.
Gooden’s wife and the couple’s two children continued to live in the house until the eviction.
The story marks the latest twist in Gooden’s personal saga, as his once elite-baseball career was derailed by drugs and alcohol. His post-baseball life has been similarly troubled, featuring arrests for substance abuse and domestic violence allegations.
