The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the New York City District Council of Carpenters will begin taking applications Wednesday for 10 millwright apprenticeships, officials said.

Applications must be obtained in person at the council's technical college, 395 Hudson St. in Manhattan on the second Wednesday of each month, expect in July and August. Forms are available between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and will only be given to people with a driver's license, passport or other government-issued picture identification.

Applicants should complete the application within five days of receipt and mail it to JATC Millwright Apprenticeship Applications, 395 Hudson St., 2nd floor, New York, New York 10014.

The form must be accompanied by copies of documents that show the applicant's age, education attainment and proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a Social Security card. The recruitment period ends on Sept. 9, 2015.

Applicants should be 17 or older, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, pass a physical exam and drug test, submit to an interview and have a driver's license and reliable transportation.
