$5M makeover for Manhasset building
A trio of investors will put up more than $5 million to renovate their four-story office building at 600 Community Dr. in Manhasset.
The renovation plans call for a reconstructed building entrance, an upgraded lobby with new marble and granite finishes, and renovated bathrooms.
A timeline for the renovations -- from when it will begin and how long it will take -- was not given. A local architect has been hired to lead the revamp effort.
Although 600 Community Dr. is almost fully occupied, leases for up to 100,000 square foot of office space in the 252,000-square-foot building will expire this year, according to a spokesman for the owners. The owners may convert some space in the building, which is located across the street from North Shore University Hospital, into medical offices if there is demand.
Talks are also ongoing with the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency about potential tax breaks for the renovations, the spokesman said.
