The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Finishing Trades Institute of New York will begin taking applications Tuesday for 50 metal refinisher apprenticeships.

Applications can be obtained at the institute’s office, 45-15 36th St., Long Island City, Queens, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month until Dec. 19, 2017.

Applicants must be 18 or older, provide proof of completion of high school or GED courses, be physically able to do the work, be able to understand instructions in English and be able to work in New York City.
