Blink Fitness, which touts itself as an "affordable fitness" company, is opening its first gym in Nassau County on Thursday, in Baldwin.

To celebrate the official opening of Blink Baldwin, the corporate chain will be holding a ribbon cutting event at 11:30 a.m. on 1789 Grand Ave. The event includes music, and attendees can visit an open photo booth and get guided tours of the new club.

The 15,000-square-foot Baldwin location will have 20 employees to start; this number will vary based on the demand for personal training. The space was vacant for more than 15 years before Blink moved in, company officials said.

Blink Fitness debuted its brand more than three years ago and has more than 35 locations in the New York-New Jersey area, including five in Suffolk County. Memberships at Blink start at $15 a month.

Equinox Holdings Inc. operates Blink Fitness and three other separate fitness brands, Equinox Fitness, PURE Yoga and SoulCycle.
