CED Greentech, a wholesale distributor of solar, electrical and renewable energy products, is opening its first office on Long Island in April.

CED Greentech will open a 10,000-square-foot office on 33 Comac Loop in Ronkonkoma. The company plans to hire 16 full-time employees to fill accounting, sales, warehouse, delivery driver, purchasing and engineering positions. It plans to host an open house on a date to be determined later, as well as work with area trade schools and colleges to find job candidates, according to Arthur W. Perri Jr., director of sales for CED Greentech Long Island.

CED Greentech is a division of Irving, Texas-based Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc., one of the largest electrical product wholesale distributors in the United States. Founded in 1957, the privately held company employs 6,200 at more than 600 locations across the country.
