Chick-fil-A is set to open its first Long Island location...

Chick-fil-A is set to open its first Long Island location this fall, a company spokeswoman said. The Atlanta-based fast-food restaurant will open on Route 347 in Port Jefferson Station, according to spokeswoman Anne Lerner, who said that a former car dealership must first be demolished. Credit: AP

Tommy Bahama is set to open a second Long Island location this month, when it opens the doors at their Walt Whitman mall location.

Another chain, Chick-fil-A, is set to open a store in Port Jefferson -- the chain's first on LI.

The chicken chain isn't alone in cracking the market in Nassau  and Suffolk counties.

Other chains include restaurants, banks and much more.  For instance, Shake Shack is looking at a Melville location.
